The Cooper Discoverer HTP is an excellent highway tire with excellent touring performance and a silent ride, no matter what size tire you are riding on.

What Is the Cooper Discoverer HTP?

This tire has a unique serpentine sipe design that is able to put hundreds of separate biting edges on the ground at all times. The result of this is that it is ideal for wet weather and gripping the road in the winter. Whether you are driving a light utility pick-up truck, a crossover or some sort of sports utility vehicle (SUV), you will get the high-quality ride you are looking for.

How Does It Work And What Does It Fit?

The Cooper Discoverer HTP is made with silica-infused tread compounds that are made to be just right on all sorts of weather. If you live in an area of the country that gets a lot of rain or snow, it will provide you with excellent traction – even on the ice.

The handling of this tire is also designed to be extra smooth and quiet, primarily because of its computer-optimized tread pattern. It has a pitch sequence that cancels the road noise, giving you a comfortable and very quiet ride for its full 65,000-year limited tread wear warranty.

  1. Hi Joe,
I am in need of replacing my 2011 Yukon XL tires and looking for a recomendation. I am a travel nurse and drive approx 20k miles per year, mostly highway and regularly with vehicle loaded. I occasionally pull a 5k lb trailer. I drive cross country at least twice a year so comfort and safety are a big priority. I avoid snow like the plague.
I would appreciate your feedback. Too many choices.

  2. Hi Laurel,

I avoid snow like the plague too! 🙂 Since you spend so much time on the road, I’d go with the Michelin LTX2 I run them on my wife’s van. We love them. They’re quiet on the hiway, they stick like glue with our all wheel drive in the wet, and they wear like iron.

Of course they’re more money, but when you look at how long they last, they’re less money in the long run. I hope that helps.

  3. I have a2005 toyota 4 runner limited. tire size 265/65/R17
